Mail the Message
Sometimes the smallest actions speak the loudest. Mail the Message is MRTA’s postcard advocacy initiative for members who want an accessible way to create real impact. Each month, MRTA prepares postcards addressing timely legislative issues affecting retired educators.
A handwritten message to the Capitol stands out – it reminds elected officials that real people, real retirees, and real communities are paying attention.
MRTA Legislative Day
Each year, MRTA members gather at the Missouri State Capitol for Legislative Day – a chance to meet face-to-face with your elected representatives, hear from legislative leaders, and demonstrate the strength of Missouri’s retired educator community.
Legislative Day is one of the most powerful advocacy tools MRTA offers. There is no substitute for showing up in person and letting legislators know their constituents are watching.
Regional Meetings
Regional Meetings are a vital part of MRTA’s advocacy work. These gatherings give members the opportunity to hear directly from superintendents, the MRTA Executive Director, the MRTA President, and legislators who support public education. Meetings deliver timely legislative updates, statewide insights, and a forum for member questions and concerns.
Every action, large or small, strengthens our collective voice and helps ensure that retired educators remain a respected, powerful force in shaping Missouri’s future.
